I didn’t vote for Donald Trump in 2016, and I won’t vote for him in 2020. I didn’t vote for Hilary or Bernie in 2016, and no, I won’t vote for either of them in 2020.
I’m not a Democrat or a Republican. I’m not a libertarian. I’m definitely not a socialist (chorus of laughter at the thought). I’m not a frightened white nationalist. I’m not an antifa moron. In the immortal words of Treebeard the Ent, “I am not altogether on anyone’s side, because no one is altogether on my side.”
That being said, I wouldn’t mind it so much if Trump was able somehow to win in 2020, if only to watch him bait the main stream media and play them for the fools they are. It is so refreshing to see someone in a position of real authority calling out the mainstream media out as a bunch of lying partisans and bashing them right in the teeth about their hypocrisy – metaphorically of course.
So call me selfish. I admit it. Yes, I know our President is not always presidential, although he has improved on this. Yes, I know he exaggerates and plays fast and loose with facts sometimes. And sometimes he just plain fibs. I’m willing to put up with the foibles because the one of several things Trump is dead on about are media biases, and their willingness to lie even worse than Trump, to make up news stories, and to create fake news about our President and about us.
Surveys say more than 90 per cent of the media’s coverage of President Trump is negative. What explains this? In 2016 Trump committed an apparently unforgivable sin among the nation’s elite: he won the Presidential election. Hillary Clinton was supposed to win according the mainstream media, and the plethora of polls they produced that purportedly proved that it was Hillary in a landslide. Turns out all the polls were fake news.
Ever since 2016 the media and other left leaning groups and interests have been having a royal temper tantrum about who is President. Some seem to literally be holding their breath and turning blue in the hopes that somehow Trump will stop being President. Others cannot bring themselves to call Trump the President. For them he is simply: “Orange man bad.”
This complete unwillingness to accept reality caused partisans at MSNBC and CNN to claim Donald Trump won the Presidency because he colluded with Russia. An elaborate, lengthy, and very expensive independent investigation was launched on behalf of this theory. After more than two years and millions of dollars the result of the Democrat heavy investigation came in: Orange man not Red.
Remarkably, MSNBC still believes Orange man is Red. In the 1950’s the left had a field day mocking Republican fears of Russian communists infiltrating American government. Today the left seems even more terrified (or is it hopeful?) of Russian interference than the right was 60 years ago. But you’ll never get a leftie admitting to the silly irony of it all/
Now the left probably doesn’t believe Orange man is Red. They just want to get something on Trump. Their insistence that he is a racist has worn thin (like Okay, say he is, what’s next?), in part because the left thinks anyone who doesn’t believe exactly what they believe are racists. That’s a lot of people. Tens of millions. The left is left with the unlikely ploy of calling for impeachment hearings. This is a gambit that will fail with the Republican Senate, and in public opinion polls – real polls, anyway.
Meanwhile the left is scaring their base into voting Democrat by demonizing Republicans. That is rather humorous when you look at the Congressional Republicans: they are a rather feckless lot, quite unlikely to challenge anyone. And when the cries of “racist” come Republicans duck their heads and assume the time honored position underneath their desks.
It is all just a game called “playing the race card.” The left assumes a moral authority it doesn’t have and starts calling people names. The purpose of the name calling is to put their opponent on the defensive. Most sane leftists (no, this is not an oxymoron) know the majority of Republicans are no more racist than the Democrats are. Real racists laugh at the epithet; but the guiltless are intimidated. The Orange Man is an exception. He is not intimidated by the left or by the left leaning media. He plays them like a fiddle and has them talking about whatever he wants them to to be talking about.
Many in the media seem to have contracted “Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS)”, an unfortunate malady that causes the victim to get stuck on “Orange Man Bad” narratives until they end up shedding the masks and behaving likes total partisans, as their viewership plummets. The two most obvious TDS victims are Don Lemon at CNN and Rachel Maddow at MSNBC. In the Democrat controlled House there is the Squad, Rep. Eric Smallwell, and Rep. Adam Schiff, who is still claiming Trump colluded with the Russians. Schiff and Maddow are really on another planet with their opinions, which are, in the main, conspiracy theorizing.
Do the Democrats have any positive programs or plans to make health care affordable, to solve the problems at the border, or how to maintain the ferocity of Trump’s economy? Apparently not. Orange Man Bad has done some things pretty well. He is certainly open to criticism on some scores, but you have to have TDS to fail to acknowledge the successes Trump has had the last three years, successes that came while a virtual vigilante mob was investigating him.
Recently the House began making noise about starting impeachment proceedings against Orange Man Bad. So it seems the Democrats in 2020 will be running on “Orange Man Bad.” If they continue to do so, Orange Man Bad will beat the Democrats in 2020. And I will continue to enjoy President Trump calling out the media on their nonsense for four more years.
