Fall

I suffered last month from the heat and humidity. I put off getting an air conditioner due to finances; probably a mistake. September is better. Cool, good sleeping weather, hints of color change in the trees. Nature is gradually transforming into one of my favorite times of year. Each day looks different as God’s creation performs a slow explosion into the splendor of Fall. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Many years ago I left my chosen career and broke up with my future wife. I was feeling desolate. What saved me was doing manual labor in the fall. Each morning revealed hope, a reassurance that God’s creation lasts and is unchanging (even in its changes). It really got me through a difficult time.

Now times are difficult again. Thank God for Fall.
